NZ cabinet backs action on gun laws - PMPM Jacinda Ardern says New Zealand's cabinet backs gun law changes 'in principle' after Christchurch shootings. Laws made in haste tend to be bad laws. Not saying there isn't a need to change the laws (in truth I don't know the details) but the changes need to be carefully considered. Apparently this guy had a gun licence: clearly there is an issue there that needs fixing. Emotion fueled policy change. Yeah, I've found most decisions are handled the best when people are at peak emotion and at their least rational. Yikes. How are they doing with the murder laws the killer failed to follow?
