KULIM: The unity government is not short of support from MPs in Parliament and has no need to threaten others into supporting them, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The Pakatan Harapan secretary-general said support for the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was at a very convincing level, proven when the Supply Bill 2024 at the policy level was approved in the Dewan Rakyat, on Thursday .

He was asked to comment on Perikatan secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin's statement that the coalition was gathering evidence regarding alleged threats received by opposition MPs to support the government. Commenting further, Saifuddin, who is also Home Minister, said Perikatan should not make accusations without evidence.

"So on the government side, as mentioned by the Prime Minister , Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki and on the part of the Home Ministry, the police have not received any complaints regarding the allegations."It's business as usual On the government side. There is no problem in terms of support as we're now in a very convincing position," he said.
