The Appeal Court in Its ruling delivered on Friday, rejected the appeals filed by the former Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji of the PDP, which challenged the ruling of the National Assembly election petition tribunal for upholding Aguocha's victory. The Appellate Court held that the appeal from the PDP candidate lacked merit, dismissing it and upholding Aguocha's victory.
The Appeal Court upheld Ogah's victory and dismissed Onyejiocha's case. The rulings have turned the camps of Aguocha and Ogah to celebration grounds. In Ohuhu, the hometown of Obi Aguocha, his friends and relatives celebrated his victory, saying that it was a victory for the Ohuhu clan which, according to them, had suffered 24 years of 'rotational marginalization'.
