A Wisconsin judge has ruled against using a video and transcripts from a 2018 police interview with Chrystul Kizer, who is currently on trial for allegedly killing a man.

Video and transcripts of a police interview with a Wisconsin woman accused of killing a man she alleges was sexually trafficking her cannot be admitted as evidence in her trial, a judge ruled Tuesday. Using the video and transcript of Chrystul Kizer's 2018 interview with Kenosha police investigators as trial evidence would likely violate the Milwaukee woman's constitutional rights, Kenosha Circuit Court Judge David Wilk ruled, the Kenosha News reported.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are sexual assault victims, but Kizer discussed her case in an interview from jail with The Washington Post that was published in 2019. According to court documents, Kizer put a gun in her bookbag in June 2018 and told her boyfriend that she was going to shoot Volar because she was tired of him touching her.
