The man accused of randomly attacking multiple people with a hammer at the Beacon Hill Link light rail station is expected to appear in court Wednesday morning.

Richard Aaron Quentin Gordon, 39, faces the following charges: first-degree assault with a deadly weapon enhancement, second-degree assault and fourth-degree assault. His bail has been set at $1 million.

"This is exactly the kind of case King County prosecutors are going to rush file," said Casey McNerthney, a spokesperson for the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office said. "When you have a violent attack like this, particularly on a victim at random, that’s concerning. The public wants to know we’re going to follow through, and we are."Gordon will also be in court for an incident that occurred in August at the downtown Seattle Nordstrom.
