A proposed legislation by the ACT government will allow nurses, social workers and counsellors to discuss voluntary assisted dying with patients.Terminally ill patients will have access to assisted dying without receiving an end-of-life time frame from a doctor.

The government is also looking to elevate the role nurses play in conducting assessments of a patient's eligibility.
