A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and false imprisonment following a "particularly violent incident" in North Belfast.
It was reported that a man gained access to a house in the area before threatening the resident and assaulting them. He also caused damage to a window and the interior of the property.A man in his 30s has since been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences which include false imprisonment and assault.Detective Inspector Kelly Foley said: “At approximately 4.50pm, we received a report that a man had gained access to a house in the Southport Court area of the city.
"Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
