But it is expected that there will be an update regarding his defence team's request for a data download from the complainant's mobile phone, covering a period of six months. His case had been mentioned in the ACT Magistrates Court on September 16, 2021, when his lawyer told the court he was in Queensland.
About the same time, media was reporting that a "high-profile man" was due to appear in a Toowoomba court on rape charges.At the time, Queensland law banned the identification of anyone charged with rape until they were committed to stand trial. The matter has had a series of mentions in Toowoomba throughout this year but Mr Lehrmann has not been required to attend.
He is also taking defamation action against Network 10 over an interview and against the ABC over the broadcast of a National Press Club address by Brittany Higgins.
