about expectations from the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in the next four years on issues affecting the Niger Delta region

What is critical for us today in the Niger Delta is the restructuring of Nigeria. We have been calling for the development of Niger Delta even before independence and after the war. It has not been done. If we are not able to start the process of restructuring Nigeria between May 29 and 31st of November, which will be exactly six months, then the will to restructure Nigeria is not there and may never be there.

But that is a long-term task. What immediate action do you want the President to take to develop the Niger Delta region? There are many groups in the Niger Delta such as the Ijaw National Congress and the Ijaw Youth Council and they are not united. If the situation remains the same, do you think the region can achieve its goal of speedy development?
