Pressure mounts on President Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu after Supreme Court verdict

Several media reports indicate that President Bola Tinubu is under immense pressure to release the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra , Nnamdi Kanu.

Before now, groups like the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and serving governors like Peter Mbah and Chukwuma Soludo had urged the president to free the IPOB leader. They also called for the release of other political prisoners in the country “as a way of consolidating national peace and cohesion.”
