Obi and Abubakar had separately sought to overturn the judgment of the presidential election petition tribunal which upheld Tinubu’s election as president.

The party said the judgment is against the “express provisions” of the constitution, Electoral Act, 2022, and the guidelines and regulations issued by INEC for the conduct of the election. “Nigerians are still at a loss as to how the Supreme Court condoned the serious issues of forgery, falsehood and perjury on the altar of technicalities.
