With the Senate and Supreme Court landscapes looking like a roadblock to legislative wins, a growing number of candidates are looking to change the rules of engagement should they win unified control of government.

Late this week, former Rep. Beto O’Rourke became the second presidential candidate to float expanding the Supreme Court to 15 seats.Get breaking news alerts and special reports. The news and stories that matter, delivered weekday mornings.WASHINGTON — The biggest policy-related fight roiling the 2020 Democratic field may not be over any of the increasingly ambitious proposals flooding the race, but the ways progressives would like to turn some of them into reality.

“The whole time Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been alive, Republicans have won the popular vote exactly one time,” Sean McElwee, co-founder of Data For Progress, said. “Despite that, they have control of the presidency, control of the Supreme Court, control of the Senate, and until recently, control of the House.”

While Buttigieg and O’Rourke have talked about restructuring how the court operates, Pack the Courts has advocated for simply adding more Democratic-appointed justices, which would require only a majority vote if the filibuster were eliminated. “[I]t is incredibly unfortunate that the Supreme Court has become so politicized, but I don't think our argument should be to make things worse,” he said in an email.

You rigged every aspect of the last election from the whitehouse, fbi, irs,DOJ, and many others media, it looks like John McCain had his hand in the cookie jar as well. And you lost the POTUS. Truth and honestly is the best policy. Not lies and corruption.

The supreme court five Democrat five Republican five voted on by those ten supreme court judges sounded pretty interesting though 15 seems a bit large for supreme court. Sometimes I think it would be nice if there was a 15 person Super Senate. Sometimes 100 seems like too many

While his wife stays home to raise their kids. And, maybe just maybe beto will help. Where's the metoo feminist and anyone that thinks there is so.ething seriously wrong with this statement and I'm sorry are only words price or. Stay home and raise your kids

Refusing to cover the prominent candidate Bernie Sanders (again) only proves the you are fake news. Do better MSNBC

.

Lol I've been saying that for months... change the playbook.

He has no policies but one can already see hes going to be the corporate pick.

Cheating to get votes is their new mantra....

Why not Repubs change the rules constantly to get what they want! Dems might as well benefit and ignore Repubs yelling about the rules they blatantly and repeatedly violate so...Go Dems

I really like the socialist platform on this one. Rally around a guy that couldn't win his home state and wants to take down walls.

I haven't heard him discuss one policy. He thinks he can win because he looks cool on a skateboard 😂

How about round table debates? Do something different. Those podiums are so tired.

Lol, this is not helping their case against the claim that many of these candidates are authoritarian. 'I don't have complete control, so lets make a system where I can do whatever I want!'

Funny how no one bitched and moaned while the right wing did it for 40 years.
