Marten, 36, and Mark Gordon, 49, sparked a massive 54-day police hunt after they went on the run with baby Victoria in January this year.

Appearing at the Old Bailey today, Marten and Gordon denied the manslaughter of Victoria by gross negligence, concealment of the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice. They also denied child cruelty and causing or allowing the death of a child between January 4 and February 27. Marten's father Napier Marten, a former page to the late Queen, watched from the well of court wearing a green jacket and purple tie and pocket square.
