The two remaining Pac-12 members continue to fight in court for the ability to govern the conference on their own.

and filed a motion for a preliminary injunction on Wednesday seeking control of the Pac-12 Board, to allow the two remaining Pac-12 members the ability to govern the conference on their own. Lawyers representing the two schools filed the motion, citing information obtained through discovery that they say confirms that schools “delivering a notice of withdrawal prior to Aug. 1, 2024” automatically lose their Board seats.

Oregon State and Washington State are arguing that the precedent set mean that all 10 outgoing members should not be Board members and should cede governance responsibilities to the two remaining members. “Today Oregon State and Washington State asked the court to confirm the departing schools lost their Board seats following their notices of withdrawal from the conference,” Oregon State and Washington State spokespeople said in a joint statement.
