A man who asked what he thought was a 12-year-old girl for indecent naked pictures had no idea he was in fact talking to an undercover police officer.
Prosecutor Ian Criddle said the brief conversation with the decoy, known as Izzy, happened in November 2021. Waine was arrested in May 2022, when he admitted sending the messages on the 18+ chat website, but denied being sexually interested in children. Waine, who appeared in court supported by his fiancée, was described by his family as "hard working, caring and sensitive".
