The Supreme Court has slated Thursday for judgement on the appeals filed by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, ,Atiku and Mr Obi had appealed against the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Court which dismissed their petitions challenging the outcome of the 25 February presidential election and affirmed the election of President Bola Tinubu.
NAN reports that the five-member PEPC led by Haruna Tsammani had on 6 September dismissed petitions filed by the presidential candidates for lacking in merit and affirmed the election of President Tinubu. According to him, by the evidence before the court, INEC conducted the election based on grave and gross misrepresentation contrary to the principles of the Electoral Act 2022, and against the doctrine of legitimate expectation.
Specifically, President Tinubu’s lawyer, Wole Olanipekun, a SAN described the appeals as lacking in merit .
