When they arrived, they found a group of around 20 people gathered outside a Portia Court apartment complex.
Police discovered the Joshua Cathey, a resident of the complex, damaged several of the resident’s cars in the parking lot.No injuries were reported, according to police, who then tried to get in contact with Cathey inside the apartment. Cathey did not respond. Officers said they secured the area and told Cathey repeatedly to exit the apartment, but he did not.Elyria Police Department’s Special Response Team then responded to the scene and had Cathey out of his apartment and taken into custody around 10:30 a.m.
After Cathey was arrested, police discovered a woman and three children inside the apartment as well.Cathey was taken to the Lorain County Jail, where he is being held without bond pending his initial court appearance.
