Young, a Republican, resigned from his position effective Oct. 2.

BARBERTON, Ohio - Former State Rep. Robert Young is scheduled to go on trial Tuesday in Barberton Municipal Court.

Young is facing two counts of domestic violence and one count of assault after allegedly attacking family members on July 7. According to the Summit County prosecutor, the alleged assaults happened at Young’s home as well as a relative’s home.A trial date for those charges has not yet been scheduled.He was in his second term in the Ohio house and was chair of the Pensions Committee.
