Brexit-supporting lawmakers have rejected an additional legal opinion by Britain...

LONDON - Brexit-supporting lawmakers have rejected an additional legal opinion by Britain’s top government lawyer on Prime Minister Theresa May’s divorce deal assurances, The Telegraph reported.

His original opinion published on Tuesday that the legal risk remained that Britain might be unable to get out of the backstop helped convince Brexit-supporting lawmakers to oppose the deal. In the legal advice, Cox said the Vienna convention enables the UK to break off the backstop in the event that there has been an “unforeseen and fundamental change of circumstances”.

Because it's utter twaddle. It is such a misread of Vienna 62 that even the ERG, who first suggested it, know it doesn't fly.

Finally, many of the assumptions underlying the Brexit issue are inconsistent, in the sense that no one is able to prove a true and incontrovertible reason. And in fact nobody does it.

That's all it is. An opinion and should be disreguarded

May getting desperate offering such stupid additional advice. The opposite (not guaranteeing the back stop) would be true in destabilising NI society.

And this is The Attorney General ?
