Sir Mark Rowley, the commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, has called for a 'redrawing' of laws to do with terrorism and hate crime in the age of social media - adding that it was up to 'politicians and parliament to draw the line'.He spoke after meeting with Home Secretary Suella Braverman, after videos showed people chanting 'jihad' on social media saw no one sought for prosecution.
'And those lines probably need redrawing.'Sir Mark said that one of the groups seen in the UK that people had raised concerns about - Hizb ut-Tahrir - is banned in countries like Germany as well as 'most of the Muslim world'.He adds: 'So there are frameworks which are more assertive in some respects, and I think there's lessons to be learned. 'But that's for politicians and parliament to draw the line.
