The Adamawa State High Court has fixed November 6 for the arraignment of suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Hudu Ari-Yunusa.

Hudu, the REC in Adamawa up to the April 16, 2023 governorship election result collation in the state, is to be arraigned on charges that include announcement of false electoral result, violating the oath of neutrality, breach of duty, disorderly conduct at election, inciting disturbance, and impersonating a public servant.

recalls that Hudu had on April 16 announced the result of the election, declaring Senator Aishatu Binani of All Progressives Congress as winner while results were yet to be fully collated. He was immediately suspended by INEC which went ahead to complete collation and to announce incumbent governor and candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Ahmadu Fintiri, as the winner.
