His wife Margaret Anne Otto and Bradley Scott Purkiss are being jointly tried, after pleading not guilty to murder. Mr Davies' body was found wrapped tightly in a blue tarp and buried in a shallow grave on a Levendale property in June 2017. Ms Wilson said the two accused had then deliberately told lies to distract attention from themselves and to give Mr Purkiss time to dispose of the body at a property he used for shooting wallabies.The court heard the alleged victim and Ms Otto had been in a relationship for about 20 years, and had married four years before his murder.
