Lawyers for Donald Trump will appear in the High Court in London today to begin a lawsuit against former MI6 spy Christopher Steele over an infamous dossier that made lurid claims against him before the 2017 election.
The report, leaked to BuzzFeed in 2017, claimed that Mr Putin 'supported and directed' an operation to 'cultivate' Mr Trump as a presidential candidate for 'at least five years'. The trio said they brought the legal action to 'clear their names and correct the public record' about the claims made about them and to prove they were not 'creatures of the Kremlin'.
