Judge Aileen Cannon holds hearings in Fla. for Trump’s co-defendants

obstruct government attempts to retrieve classified materials that he had in his possession — are expected to appear in court with their attorneys. The hearing for De Oliveira, the property manager at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and private club, is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. Judge Aileen Cannon will then preside over a hearing at 3 p.m. for Nauta, Trump’s body man and personal aide who often travels with him.. Prosecutors presented a potential scenario in their initial requests for the hearings in which the attorneys would have to cross-examine their other clients at trial as they defend De Oliveira and Nauta.

Both De Oliveira’s and Nauta’s attorneys have said in court filings that there are no conflicts. They said they would be okay with Cannon informing their clients of their legal rights and questioning whether they have concerns, but also argued that a public hearing with federal prosecutors present was unnecessary.De Oliveira is represented by John Irving, and Nauta is represented by Stanley Woodward. Both of the attorneys are based in Washington, D.C.

Prosecutors had requested that the clients of Woodward and Irving who could be witnesses at trial attend the Garcia hearing Thursday.
