Back in 1996, she was in her early 20s, blonde and beautiful, doing infomercials and working as a celebrity hostess at events. She was on a work trip with her boss in the Caribbean when she says she met fashion mogul Peter Nygard on a flight. They were invited to dinner at his “stunning” compound in the Bahamas — an evening of his boasting about himself that she said ended with her walking in on an orgy in his grotto. “Everybody was f—ing everybody,” she said.
“I just can’t move,” she testified, her voice shaking. “He’s got my legs spread wide open, he’s got my hands pinned down and I just don’t know how to get out of that situation.”Nygard hadn’t succeeded in penetrating her — “His penis was very limp and leaky,” she said — but, she said, he kept trying despite her saying ‘No.’“But when I started yelling ‘Stop,’ I think he got uncomfortable,” she testified. “He got off of me and started screaming that I’m ruining the party.
During a tense cross-examination, defence lawyer Brian Greenspan accused the former hostess of playing naive after witnessing an orgy in Nygard’s Bahamian grotto.“How would I obviously know where this was heading?” she retorted. “I was not hired to watch people have sex or to be jumped on. That’s not what I get paid for, sir. I’m not for sale.”
In response, the feisty woman insisted there was too much to tell investigators everything when she reported Nygard in 2021 after joining the U.S. class-action lawsuit against him the year earlier.
