A sessions court’s decision to impose a 10-year jail sentence on a man who insulted Islam is excessive, said Lim Kit Siang. The DAP parliamentary leader said respect for all religions as provided by the constitution is a must and all Malaysians should have mutual respect for each other’s faith, but the 10-year jail punishment is too severe.
