Why I withdrew my election case from court – Akpabio

Godswill Akpabio, a senator from Akwa Ibom State, has offered reasons why he withdrew his election case from an Abuja high court.

Mr Akpabio, who contested for re-election for a second term under the platform of the All Progressives Congress to represent the Akwa Ibom North-West District, lost to the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Chris Ekpenyong. Mr Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom, claimed victory in the election and accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of tampering with the election result.

Mr Akpabio, acting against the convention where aggrieved election losers seek redress at election tribunal, filed a lawsuit in a high court in Abuja for “a judicial review for the issuance of a writ of mandamus, prohibition, injunction, and other declaratory reliefs against the respondent .” He obtained a controversial order which restrained INEC from issuing a certificate of return to his opponent, Mr Ekpenyong.

The senator told PREMIUM TIMES, Friday night, he withdrew the case from the high court so he could file his case at the election tribunal on Monday.“I must reclaim my mandate,” he said.

You withdrew your case from court because you've seen you can't win in court. The will of the people prevailed over you. MBuhari can give you ministerial position because you can't represent Akwaibom people again

Do u think AkwaIbom is an APC state, they showed you 🌶 Oju kokoro made u decamp from PDP knowing where you re coming from, good for you.

Loosing in the senate is no issue the major target is the seat of the governor. Ibomites should understand.

Political compensation reached

APC and there hypocrisy knows no bounds, why is nobody telling akpabio to accept defeat and not go to court.

The worst thing that stupid President will probably make him a Minister or give him a juicy portfolio. That's the annoying thing.

They are all strategies, perhaps he must have received call from above to withdraw the case

Don't be deceived,

So rigging get limit?

Because it was stupid in the first place for the judge to have granted that exparte order. The judge should be investigated by NJC

You mean a lost mandate?

Uncommon withdrawal!

Ok continue

Go home and rest

Do you have any case? Do the elections 100 times, you'll still fail. Mtcheew.

When you have no case.

Mmttcchheeoow!!!

Story

Go and siddon

Abeg shift.

Akpabio jst retired himself for nothing.
