In New Jersey, social equity in the cannabis space refers to the state’s efforts to repair the damage done to marginalized communities and individuals who were disproportionately affected by cannabis prohibition. This includes prioritizing business license applications from Social Equity-designated businesses, which are owned by people who have lived in an Economically Disadvantaged Area of the state or who have convictions for cannabis-related offenses, founder and CEO of Holistic Solutions.
