A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a suit seeking the disqualification of Dapo Abiodun, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress , in Ogun State.

One Abdulrafiu Adesina Baruwa had filed a suit against Abiodun, alleging that he made a false claim about his educational qualification in the Form CF001 and the accompanying affidavit he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission . According to Baruwa’s suit, Abiodun did not participate in the compulsory National Youth Service Corps scheme.

However, giving his ruling on Thursday, Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the FCT High Court 15, dismissed the case on the premise that the NYSC certificate is not a constitutional requirement for electoral office.
