Former senior staffer offered different account than former justice minister.

Liberal MPs around B.C. spoke in support of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Wednesday after Gerald Butts, his former principal secretary, gave testimony to a House committee in Ottawa on the SNC-Lavalin affair that clashed with a version of events set out by Jody Wilson-Raybould, the former justice minister.

John Aldag, the MP for Cloverdale-Langley City, said Butts’s testimony hadn’t changed his perspective. Sukh Dhaliwal, the MP for Surrey-Newton, also said his confidence in Trudeau’s leadership stood, and he referenced the PM’s support for an investigation by the ethics commissioner into the matter “to ensure we are able to gain the complete facts.”

Joyce Murray, MP for Vancouver Quadra, sent a letter to constituents Wednesday with her take on the affair. She said: “In a truly diverse and representative cabinet, a range of perspectives on a common event should be considered healthy and normal. People inevitably experience an event or conversation through the lens of their own unique personality and background.”Ken Hardie, MP for Fleetwood-Port Kells, spoke to the heart of the dispute over what to do with SNC-Lavalin.

Politicians! We have enemies now from other countries, can u guys stop fighting to each other and focus on foreign affairs?

These MPs are yes men. What do you expect. Shame on liberals

Save the jobs and worry about votes but break the law

What about the rule of the law.

Oh no. No corruption in this beautiful country of honest and hard working citizens.

They be liars

Trudeau is calling Trudeau is calling

And the liberals in BC are just as disgusting and corrupt as the clown Trudeau.

Do the people of B C know about gmbutts Gas plants, shredding documents wiping hard drives and how Ontario ran them out of town with their tails between their legs?

The entire party is corrupt as you have just seen. They are nothing but a criminal organization keeping their buddies wealthy and advancing their own personal finances. I did see Trudeau shed a tear when the oil sands halted. No show during the wild fires at Ft Mac. Disgustin

where is the Prime MInisters rebuttal, what a coward

MPs hold emergency debate on SNC-Lavalin scandalMPs are holding an emergency debate Thursday evening in the aftermath of former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould's testimony before the House Justice Committee. Which accomplished nothing other than sound bites and opinion pieces while Canadians foot the bill. Not good for Canada. Exposing the preferential treatment for Quebec combined with a Federal deficit that my grandkids will pay for. There's one thing that Jody Wilson-Raybould said at the House of Commons Justice Committee hearing that I keep reminding myself of. She said, ''I’m not going to speak to the intention of other individuals. I will speak to the very heightened level of anxiety that I had.'
