A baby drowned after being left unattended in a bath while her mum was on the phone to her girlfriend for ’50 minutes’, a court heard.
She denies a charge of manslaughter and one charge of child cruelty – after Rosie died at Morris’ then home in Greenfield.The first day of the trial heard Rosie was 13 months old and in the bath with her twin brother when they were left alone for ‘prolonged periods’. Instead, Morris ‘rushed into the street’ holding Rosie upside down and shouting for help, leaving her son in the bath.Mr Saxby said: ‘There were prolonged periods when she was not checking on them and had forgotten about them and the danger they were in.
