The Knowsley Council worker died after being found unresponsive in the back yard of her home on Leinster Road, Old Swan, shortly after midnight on August 21 last year. Detectives previously stated that a gunman had burst through her front door and fired multiple shots "indiscriminately", one of which had struck the 28-year-old environmental health officer in the abdomen.
Five men are due to go on trial at Liverpool Crown Court this week charged with her murder. A jury of five men and seven women were sworn in this afternoon, Tuesday, as were two reserves who will hear the prosecution's opening on Thursday.
A sixth man - 25-year-old Kallum Radford, of Trentham Road in Kirkby - denies assisting an offender. The trial is scheduled to last six to eight weeks.
