A 14-year-old girl whose body was found buried in her family's back garden was kept naked in a cage and starved, a court heard.
Mary was treated as a slave by her cruel relatives who carried out a sickening campaign of abuse before she died in agony in October, authorities say. Mary's father Elwyn Crocker Sr, his wife, brother-in-law, mother-in-law and mother-in-law's boyfriend have all also been charged with child cruelty.Investigator Abby Brown told the preliminary hearing that Mary would be forced to live in the tiny pen for up to 24 hours a day.She also severely lost weight and her joints were left badly swollen because of her painful contorted position.
These sickening punishments were doled out at whim for not doing chores, misbehaving - or desperately stealing food, it is claimed.
