SABC must follow DStv and cut off services for those who don't pay, says board candidate

CAPE TOWN - One of the candidates being interviewed for the South African Broadcasting Corporation board says the broadcaster should consider cutting the signal for people who fail to pay their TV licenses.SABC board candidate Mzwakhe Mofokeng said like DStv, the SABC should also cut the signal of people who fail to pay.

This, he said, was the only way to ensure South Africans pay their TV licenses, a matter the SABC has been grappling with for years.“We need to have some sort of technology that will detect when a person has not paid their license.” MPs will be putting candidates through their paces for three days before deciding on the most suitable candidates to serve on the board.

That board candidate clearly doesn't understand the technology he is presiding over as SABC and DSTV are two different models. Another example of comrades being deployed in positions they know nothing about

SABC is dead I only pay my TV license cos I feel sorry for the broadcaster and cricket is the only thing I watch.

When eventually they grasp that TV licences is a failed system and they must perform to survive there might be some hope. Recover looted millions first. FMFSouthAfrica carteblanchetv
