A masked teenager who stabbed a maths teacher in aThe boy, 15, wounded Jamie Sansom at Tewkesbury Academy in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, on July 10 this year.
The school was locked down for four hours after the attack, with two nearby schools also asked to close as a ‘precaution’. The boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, put on a snood and a hooded top to cover his face and armed himself with a six-inch kitchen knife from home.In a chilling warning, he dialled 999 minutes before the incident to tell them a teacher at the school would be stabbed, Bristol Magistrates’ Court heard.
The boy earlier pleaded guilty to attempting to unlawfully and maliciously wound Mr Sansom and possessing a bladed article.Imposing a 14-month detention and training order, District Judge Lynne Matthews said the defendant was ‘not acting impulsively’.
