KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court today upheld the six-year jail term and RM5.4 million fine imposed on a former general manager of a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad for corruption five years ago.
She said the decision of the Sessions Court judge was right because the offence was serious and it involved public interest. Shahanom was charged with accepting the cash and the car from Bina Mekar Sdn Bhd director, Ahsan Sabri Phang Abdullah and its worker Te Boon Chun as a reward for giving discounts on the weight of unprocessed copper.
