The Sokoto Governorship Election Petition Tribunal will deliver judgment on the suit challenging the election of Governor Ahmed Aliyu on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
The petition was filed by Sa’idu Umar of the Peoples Democratic Party , who is challenging the election of Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress and his deputy, Idris Gobir, over alleged non-qualification and electoral fraud during the March 18 governorship election. In the notice, the secretary of the tribunal, Sunday Martins, Esq, advised counsel to inform their clients that supporters would not be allowed into the court premises as movement would be highly restricted by the security agencies.
