Democratic majority moves legislation in step with changes in American sentiment after shootings in Parkland, South Carolina

Democratice Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosiwalks to her office in the U.S. Capitol after a bipartisan bill to require background checks on gun sales passed on the House floor in Washington on Feb. 27, 2019.The House put on a display of Democratic priorities this week with two bills to bolster background checks on firearms purchases, showing just how quickly the politics of gun control have turned.

Parkland “reignited something in people,” she said in an interview after the House votes on Thursday. Democrats – and some Republicans – “understand this is where American sentiment is going and what people want.” On Wednesday, the House approved a more ambitious measure – bipartisan legislation requiring federal background checks for all gun sales and transfers, including those sold online and at gun shows. A handful of Republicans crossed over to join Democrats. It’s the most substantial gun violence prevention bill in more than a decade.

The NRA’s Chris Cox said in a statement that the group “will continue to fight to preserve the constitutionally protected right to self-defence.”

The sunshine ☀️

As an example of the stupidity in the Bill, if you own a gun and your house is invaded, your wife use the gun for protection, she can be charged since the gun isn't registered in her name. Again going after the innocent.

Very poorly written bills trying to take rights of gun owners away. Also allows illegals to purchase guns easier. Arrest the innocent and allow the illegals to run scot free. Sound familiar?

Yeah major political shift. Instead of dying in House, the measures will die in the Senate. Huge political shift there.

And that's where they will die!

Will never become law. Waste of money

Big deal simple victories what about something like controlling illegal immigration which is killing the moral of thousand s of Americans— the President is made to be a puppet of the Congress No Leadership in USA !!
