The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Kwara, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, has vowed to repeal the law granting jumbo pensions to former governors and deputies in the state, if elected.
“We need to change some terrible laws. We’ll repeal that obnoxious pension law when we get to office. He then urged the people to not only vote for him, but to also vote for all the APC candidates for the House of Assembly in the March 9 elections in Kwara. “In as much as the constitution has ensured adequate well being and remunerations for the governors and their deputies, such gesture is a rip-off, selfish, wastage and undue application of scarce resources.
“Most of the councils presently have been crippled financially and in a state of comatose, courtesy of those saddled with the responsibility of managing and safeguarding our state resources.
Good idea, SHLD APPLY across ALL the States; who needs (to Change) 3 vehicles every 3yrs (without giving back 'old ones'), what for? Especially wjen many other retirees don't get paid their pension for months; some don't even have/'qualify' 4 pension DoubleStandards Calousness
It's long over due....
Easier said than done. Excuses would set in.
That would be great
If you win this election and you are able to keep this promise within your first tenure, you will not only win the next tenure in a land slide victory but also set yourself apart as someone worthy to be a future President.

Lovely our incoming Gov. Insha Allah, We do hope your worthy knowledge nd experience couple with length of ur Success recorded in ur Business more than three decades could be of added advantage to move our dear state in right direction. May Allah make it possible on the 9th Feb..
Good call, just follow through and don't replace it with any other payment regardless of the name
Wish someone will say this of our senators pay
I agree with the candidate, most state pension laws as it relates to ex political office holders is obnoxious. The most unfortunate thing is that most of these states like Kwara have refused to key into the contributory pension scheme as enshrined in the Pension Reform Act 2014.
Your Lagos landlord will have his hands full then because he's the initiator.

I hope he has 'loyal and firm' allies in this FIGHT. Yes, it is a FIGHT against institutionalized CORRUPTION and he's going to need all the help he can get. He has my prayers and best wishes.
Just the way ambode has stopped the one for Lagos
Better to use such money to educate and empower small scale businesses. May God enable the incoming Government. Kwarans deserve good government.
