A woman who was stalked and kidnapped before being driven off a steep embankment has spoken in a Cairns court about the terrifying ordeal for the first time.

The woman, who cannot be named, was stalked by Rooney for weeks before he broke into her Port Douglas unit on June 14, 2017 about 2:00am, armed with a knife. "Daniel, you put me through the worst days of my life," the women said in her victim impact statement to the court.The court heard the woman's friends who were staying with her in the unit woke up shortly after 7:00am, realised she was gone and called police.She tried to mouth"help me" to the attendant, who had not understood what she said.
