Law professor says overturning the verdict on the basis of unreasonableness is ‘the defence’s best shot’

These are the monsters we were scared of when we were kids. The boogie man at the church

The whole point of having a court of appeal is the acknowledgement that a conviction may be wrong or a sentence unjust. What it has come down to is one man's word and that word is not supported by the mother of the other teen present who is now deceased.

Leave aside appealing, the choice before George Pell is whether he must save the Church - and appeal- or, that he belongs to the human species, and made an ‘ungodly mistake’. I would choose the latter! Admit and go to jail, to repent! God will find you!

This saddens me. It makes me wonder why we bother with the judicial system as it seems to favour perpetrators. Jury votes unanimously but expert states that was an unreasonable result? Pell PellGuilty

wow.... any system that lets this guy go is useless.

A good chance of winning an appeal against convictions when jury was unanimous?

Hopefully the 10 months in jail will be enough to do irreparable damage to this sicko. Shoe on the other foot as they say.
