Liberal MP Andrew Hastie, says Australian citizenship is special and while certain rights come with citizenship, there are also responsibilities which, if abdicated, means a person does not deserve to be an Australian.
The government has proposed refinement to the citizenship act to strip more terrorists who fought for ISIS of their Australian citizenship. The Labor party has issued a dissenting report against the government’s proposed citizenship stripping powers, saying the bill is 'unconstitutional' and should not be passed in its present form.
