Richard Heikkila was a victim of a drive-by shooting in February 2022. He died a month later in an Edmonton hospital. A year-and-a-half later, his family still has no answers.

For Jennifer McKay, the loss of her children’s father has been devastating. They were just four and six years old when he died.

McKay said they talked and Heikkila didn’t say much, just that he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.McKay said Heikkila went back three days later because his gunshot wound became infected.
