Why universities that boycott Israel while maintaining ties to China and other major human rights violators are promoting anti-Semitism whether they mean to or not.

BOILER-PIPE: among the top destinations for American study abroad students . An academic boycott of that country would have a strong impact. So why single out Israel while maintaining a program in China? The Pitzer editorial states that the second principle is “in contemplating action in response to injustice, listen to the victims, to those who are suffering, to learn what help they seek from allies.” Perhaps we should listen more closely to the people of Tibet.

That is anti-Semitic in effect if not in intent. The government of Israel, like the governments of most nations, is hardly a group of saints. There is nothing wrong with criticizing Israel. But when doing so, universities and academic scholars should follow a few basic guidelines: First, universities should have a process that is fair and transparent.

So essentially, do not boycott Israel because other countries do horrible things too?

The author started off well but he went to cite poorly thought-out examples. Rwanda?

Disagree with your biased and somewhat one sided views....Israel is a rogue state finish and klaar!

The Anti-Semitic card is overused.

The attack against islamic/arab citizens are anti-semitism as well. Both jews and islamic people came from the same semitic root.

BoycottPakistan

Being against a country’s human rights violations doesn’t make you an antisemite! Stop with the bullshit! Calling out the Catholic Church’s and Vatican’s decades long cover up of child sex abuse doesn’t make you anti-Christian either!!!
