Kano election petition tribunal has declared Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso of All Progressives Congress winner of Kura/Madobi/Garum-Malam federal constituency of Kano state. The three-man penal led by Justice Flora Azinge upheld the petition filed by the APC candidate while invalidating the declaration of Detti Yusuf Umar of the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP.

The three-man penal led by Justice Flora Azinge upheld the petition filed by the APC candidate while invalidating the declaration of Detti Yusuf Umar of the New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP. The penal declared the victory of the NNPP candidate on the ground that he failed to resign his appointment on the service of Bayero University, Kano before taken the party’s candidature.

The NNPP was declared winner of the February 2023 national assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission after defeated Kwankwaso of the APC. Kwankwaso had rejected the outcome of the poll with a petition seeking the nullification of the election.
