The 23-year-old is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday after being arrested and charged following an investigation into two sexual assaults which took place hours apart.

A man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into two sexual assaults in Paisley which allegedly took place on Thursday, August 24.

The first incident took place at around 2.25pm on Maxwelton Street with the second just four hours later, at around 6.25pm on the River Cart Walkway. Police Scotland previously issued an appeal to help track down the suspect following the incidents - involving a 14-year-old girl and woman, aged 22. The force has confirmed a 23-year-old man has been arrested and will appear before Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, August 29.He was also charged in connection with indecent communications on Tuesday, August 15, on a cycle track near to Green Road, Paisley.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incidents, however there will continue to be a visible police presence in the area."The 23-year-old man is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, 29 August, 2023.
