A woman who told her 14-year-old son to shoot a man after he attacked her at a restaurant last month has asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit she filed against the city.

Charges against the mother and son were dropped when a video showed the violent confrontation between Hood andThe Cook County State's Attorney's Office said in a statement, "Based upon the facts, evidence, and the law we are unable to meet our burden of proof in the prosecution of these cases."

Prosecutors said Hood had texted her son to come inside prior to being punched. Brown was shot in the back by the teen and then ran from the restaurant.
