I really don't understand. Even if one is a citizen of a country by birth, one must always have identification. At this time of terrorism, nobody should be exempted from scrutiny. It's either Americans aren't serious or they just want to oppose President Trump for the sake of it.

If we cannot ask if people are citizens then we have no country. the supreme court must get this right!!

Lucky's

Herbert_L_Reed DO IT!!!

I hope they vote to stop gerrymandering. Add the question. Where are the teeth in the response. Can an illegal alien still lie and not be punished?

Supreme Court takes up Trump administration’s plan to ask about citizenship in censusA lower court said the question, not asked of all households since 1950, could lead to an undercount of the U.S. population. Perhaps the census should ask people their height and weight and put them in prison for lying.... like Trump. Census is used to allocate Electoral College votes so if 14-22MM IllegalImmigrants included,States that dont enforce immigration laws like CA, Il, NY will be rewarded w more electoral college votes than rightly deserved. This is why Dems care States and tax payers have the right to know what parts of their population are citizens, legal immigrants, & illegal immigrants. A clearer picture would help the immigration conversation.
