SUSPENDED Negros Oriental Third District Rep. Arnolfo 'Arnie' Teves Jr. has warned of a 'silent martial law' in a video.

At the end of a live 'birthday raffle' on his Facebook page on Thursday night, Teves said that it was his birthday wish that Filipinos would have a better life.'We have to be careful, because there is a creeping silent martial law... the rope is slowly tightening around our necks,' Teves said in Filipino.While not mentioning the cases against him on the murder of former Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo, Teves said he is saddened by the state of the country.

'The hour-long live stream of Teves' 'birthday raffle' can be found on his Facebook page.Among the prizes given by the suspended lawmaker included 25 kilogram sacks of rice worth P1,500 to 10 winners, as well as a stove worth P2,500 given to four winners. In addition, 10 winners also received assorted groceries worth P5,000. There were also 10 winners of an Android mobile phone worth P5,000.
