This was revealed by defence lawyer, Advocate Zandile Mshololo, on Thursday during cross-examination of Meyiwa's childhood friend, Tumelo Madlala, who was present in the house when the footballer was shot.Meyiwa was fatally shot in what the state alleges was a botched robbery that took place on October 26, 2014, at Khumalo’s house in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg. Five men are standing trial for the murder.
In a letter submitted by the director of public prosecutions in Gauteng during the previous trial, it was stated that charges could be preferred against the people who were inside the house - including Madlala, Khumalo, her sister Zandile Khumalo-Gumede - once the current trial against the five accused men has concluded.
While he was aware of the second docket, Madlala said he was waiting impatiently for a decision to be taken on the status of the docket.Muzikawukhulelwa Sthemba Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Ncube, Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphisa and Sifisokuhle Ntuli are standing trial for Meyiwa's murder.
